First for Fernando and Renault
The ING Renault F1 Team took its first victory of the season as Fernando Alonso produced a brilliant tactical drive to win the Singapore Grand Prix, the Sport’s first ever night race.
Fernando started the race light on fuel and enjoyed an aggressive opening stint on the soft option tyres, rising to 11th before heading to the pits on lap 12. Nelson meanwhile was running heavy, but lost the car on the exit of turn 17 a couple of laps later, which brought out the safety car. The safety car period saw most of the field head for the pits, while Fernando remained on-track and rose through the field, emerging in the top five and eventually leading the race as the remaining drivers made their stops. From there the Spaniard pushed hard to build a lead that he would never lose, making his final stop on lap 41. A late safety car period failed to halt Fernando’s progress as he swept to his 20th Grand Prix victory. Having scored ten points this weekend the team has moved into fourth position in the constructors’ championship with a five point lead over Toyota in fifth. The victory gives the whole team a boost as the championship builds to a climax with the remaining three races.
Next race October 12th - Japan, Fuji 0630 CET
SPANISH FOOTBALL - MORONS & VIOLENCE
Situation: Its Saturday & ESPANYOL plays FC BARCELONA in a "high risk" local derby. That’s not the problem, the problem is when FC Barcelona radicals called "Boixos Nois" ( "Our Boys" shows us real originality by these guys) begin throwing flares at Espanyol fans. No reason at all, just to hurt, provoke & if lucky cause some disgrace. They go to Football not to watch Football, irrationality; this is the prime characteristic of these primitive animals. These objects - flares - alight & burning & very dangerous flying objects; there are numerous cases of lost limbs & even death after being hit by a lit flare & there they are when they are banned by law from Football grounds. This, of course, caused the Espanyol fans to react in the same manner, with the logical result that things get out of control & the game gets called off for 10 mins. Great, that’s good, but why in the hell are these piece of sh*t with two legs allowed to go to Football when they are known criminals, allowed to represent FC Barcelona & allowed to take in flares & who knows what other illegal stuff to cause injury & possibly death.
Everyone is blaming everyone: Espanyol blames Barça, Barça blames a relaxed Espanyol security, both blame local police...bla bla bla. Luckly the social outrage has lead Police to quickly identify via CCTV at least 5 brain damaged morons who have been arrested. Thank god no one was seriously injured or killed, thank god!
This mental disease, where "useless" humans find their lost identity in the "group" & the worship of abstract "concepts" - need psychological help. Seeing this is not possible the law must be enforce with harsh punishment. The Clubs should work to eradicate this from their fans & players should have the "balls" to go out in public & make a stand against this sort of behaviour.
Unfortunately the disease is here, in the UK, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey... & players score goals & celebrate jointly with these barbarians (Barça players did this after scoring twice on Saturday - they claim they knew nothing...obviously blind to flare lights & screams) or go public & claim that they admire Fascist ideas - Milan goalkeeper Abiatti - as a group thing, the power of the collective. You idiot, collective & ideology to an untrained mind - stupid mind - is interpreted as ‘Me versus The World’.
Add drugs & alcohol & the World, the other Club & other people become enemies to be hated & eliminated. Its dangerous stuff guys! Either we take a stand or we are all going to suffer a REAL disaster soon. It maybe you one day, your friend, your son or the person next to you that gets flare explode in their face to explode...& then what!
A disgrace for Espanyol, a disgrace for FC Barcelona, a disgrace for Spanish Football, a disgrace for Catalans, a disgrace for Spaniards, a disgrace for any rational & thinking human being to witness this senseless obedience to concepts that will not solve their life. Sport is to unite & not divide, to enjoy & not to cause pain. Its really simple!
Sadly SFS also has to report on the violence that reared its ugly head again, this time thanks to the walking "brainless" from Marseille who before the match provoked authorities & the crowd by throwing objects - seats - & hurling abusive gestures & language at anything. Spanish police charged to ease their "emotion" so the game could start. Once again, this is NOT proper behaviour & it needs to be stamped out of Football!!! The night turned out to be great for ATLETICO DE MADRID who beat the French team OLYMPIQUE OF MARSEILLE 2-1.
CHELSEA LOOKS AT LUIS FABIANO FOR WINTER
English paper "The Times" has run the news that CHELSEA FC coach Scolari has asked his boss Roman Abramovich to get his cheque book out & make an effort this winter for Brazilian International & SEVILLA FC forward LUIS FABIANO. This news has been picked up locally by "As" & they go on to explain that the serious injury to Didier Drogba has left Chelsea short up front, a worry that Scolari wishes to cover specially after the failed Robinho attempt. The figure being speculated is around 30M€, however Fabiano has just renewed contract with Sevilla until 2011 & negotiating is going to be difficult as Fabiano is a vital part of the Sevilla team. For now, SFS thinks its wishful thinking on Chelsea´s part & prefers to see how things shape up in the Winter Transfer market season. Stay tuned!
SERGIO AGUERO & LIONEL MESSI:
CURRENTLY THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?
They are the talk of the town, & of the Football World. Two very young Argentine´s who have speed, skill, dribble & goal, plenty of goals: SERGIO AGUERO & LIONEL MESSI. Both were instrumental - VITAL - in their teams Champions League victory, with goals & improvised magic that turned the game in an instant. As the expert say, that stuff Champions are made of & these two are on track to dominate World Football for the years to come, along with another candidate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Javea Green Bowls Club – Weekly Round Up for 4th October with Alan Phillips
Sponsored by MATRIX 35 finance So the Northern League is with us again and the Quartz has started in determined fashion, with 8-2 wins over our own Opals & Onyx. The first game saw wins for the teams skipped by Graham Muir, Stan Staines & Ken Davey. In the second game against the Onyx, the Quartz got off to a flying start only to be pegged back as the game neared its’ conclusion. On the final end Stan Staines, Brian Rich & Carol Davey overturned a 3 shot deficit to take the game 18-17. There were also victories for Graham Muir & Ken Davey. Apparently no-one was more surprised (or pleased) than Onyx Captain Brian Bolger, when an ‘outrageous” wick converted a 5 shot difference into a winning score! The Onyx then entertained the Opals and Captain Brian Bolger inspired the team to a stunning 9-1 victory. Leading from the front he picked up a 4 shot win, which was matched by Mick Brownlows’ team. Peter Ellis, Barry Jowett & Anita Ellis who suffered a last end reversal in the previous match, held on this time to claim the 2 points. Although only picking up 1 point, the performance of the day surely went to Gill Johnson, Mike Wynne & Ritva McAuliffe, who ground out a gutsy draw against an experienced team skipped by Morris Jones.
The Opals picked up their first victory of the campaign with a comprehensive 8-2 defeat of Finca Guila. Good wins for the teams skipped by Dave Poole, Morris Jones & Terry Cotter. Captain Anne Moon lost her encounter, but praised her opposite number Norman Vickers, for some fine firing shots!
A brief but belated report on the first instalment of the BBC Masters, saw Derek Eldon continue his Singles form, as he won the individual singles section. Also congratulations to Margaret & Nick Bunbury, Gail & Harry Chick who picked up a ‘hot shot’ in the Fours section. Unfortunately they lost in the final of that discipline to the in-form squad from BBC, skipped by Sheila Manser.
Enjoy your bowling.
El Cid Bowls Club El Cid’s Northern League results for this week are as follows: A close match was played between Swords and Scimitars. After a nail biting final end on Brian Bradshaw’s rink which ended in a draw, the match ended up with both teams getting 5 points each. Scimitars hosted BBC Jaguars and despite some great games, they were unable to gain any points and allowed BBC to leave with a full 10 points. Tony Metcalfe (Scimitars team captain) puts the loss down to the new mats being too ‘grippy’ ;-) !! Swords played away at BBC against their Lions team and came away with 5 points.
All League match fixtures and results can be found on our club website ( www.elcidbowlsclub.com) which is now completely up to date. Keep an eye also on the “Club News” page on the website for last minute changes to any scheduled match.

In the evening 25 members and guests enjoyed the Captain’s Dinner, which was an Indian meal, at the Bar El Parque, Onil where Peter (El Capitano) Gurney presented the Captain’s Trophy to Bob (the Bandit) Smith, he also presented the outgoing Captain (Fff´íng) Andy Martin with gifts of a clock in the form of a golf buggy in recognition of his service during the past year and a presentation box of tie, handkerchief and cuff links so that he could smarten himself up!
