El Rio Jucar made a lovely destination for a day outfor a coachfull of daytrippers. They went to the Ayora Valley with a tour of Ayora town, a visit to a stick making workshop (with personalised walking sticks for sale) and a boat trip from Cofrentes. We opened our doors to the other 2 social clubs in the area and took a coach load of happy people. Our next big event is on 10th July with the club Summer Dance. This year we also have some unofficial club summer activities posted onto our website for any interested members.
A practice run is often needed when planning a new trip, excursion or new walk. This is what the Tough Walkers did last Saturday – they went exploring the hills above Javea to find a suitable walk to include fish and chips for the Ramblers’ last walk of the season. They found rough seas and the entrance to a huge cave (Cova Tollada). We have a trip planned to see caves along the Rio Jucar for June 4th.
You can join the club for ten-pin bowling, flamenco classes, walking, petanca, golf (in Gandia), occasional fishing or Thursday dinners. All are welcome, members or occasional guests, young or old.
Every Thursday evening the club meets for dinner at the Viva España (menu choices in advance), gathering by 8 for an 8.30pm start. Please respect our dress code (smart casual).
