FESTIVITIES IN HONOUR OF ‘SAN FRANCISCO DE BORJA – GANDIA
From September 29th to October 2nd
The festivities begin with the passacaglia (parade) of the Tío de la Porra, which is followed by days of celebrations which include fireworks displays, sports competitions, religious celebrations, musical and theatrical performances. These celebrations have been held annually since 1310. Bands and concerts will be held throughout the celebrations with the majority taking place in and around Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Cultura and Institute Ausiàs March. Midday to 2pm - Palace Ducal and Renaissance Mercado
The Borja family arrive at the Ducal Palace. Exhibition of the dresses from the film `The Borja', in Plaza de las Escuelas Pías. Animation fairs will be held in the Renaissance Market.
7pm – 9pm - Palace Ducal and Renaissance Mercado
The Borja family arrive at the Ducal Palace where they will attend dramatizations of the family’s history. Following this they will walk to the Renaissance Market. The market will have street theatre, children’s corner and falconry displays as well as many other activities transporting visitors back through time.

12.30 h Calles de la ciudad – parade by Pasacalle de la Unión Musical San Francisco de Borja.
13.00 h Civic Act in the Palace of the Borja - The Borja family arrive at the Ducal Palace, where a dramatization of the family history will be shown. This wil be followed by a tribute to the Borja family in the presence of authorities from the towns of the old Ducado. The city council of Gandia and Borja family will give readings. The Musical Union San Francisco de Borja will accompany guests to the mascletà.

PALAU DUCAL DELS BORJA
Free guided visits around the Palau Ducal will be held on the 28th and 29th of September and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October. Visits will leave at 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19. Ont he 30th of September tours will leave at 10, 11 and 12.
