In Aielo de Malferit until August 8th the town celebrates its annual Moors and Christians fiesta with bull running as a major attraction. On Saturday, August 4th at 1am the traditional act of ‘Bou embolat’ will take place where safety balls are placed on the horns of the bulls. Sunday, August 15th see the bands make their entrance in the parades followed at 8pm by the fantastic entrance of the Moors and Christians Armies and concert by ‘Benidorm’. On Monday, August 6th at 1am the Moors will take the castle from the Christian Army followed by a concert by `La Pirata'. At midnight on the 7th of August the Christians will reclaim the castle from the Moors followed by a concert by `La Tribu' orchestra. Wednesday, August 8th is the final day of celebrations and at 11am ‘Bou en corda’ is celebrated followed by midnight fireworks and concert by the `Limite' Orchestra.

THE SAN ROQUE FESTIVITY 16-08-2007
Holy Mass is celebrated in the morning from the chapel, with the congregation watching on in the street. In the afternoon, a parade is held, led by the Unión Musical de Biar. This is followed by sporting events and the Les Parrandes dance, which ends the festivity.
BOCAIRENT From 10-08-2007 to 01-09-2007
Celebrations during August in Bocairent are in honour of Sant Agustí. From August 10th to September 1st the town comes alive with folk music and dance and the “Cabolos”. On Tuesday, August 21st, the children’s celebration is held and in the evening crafts and activities are held in Colegio Lluís Vives. At 8.30pm on Wednesday, August 22nd the cavalcade take places, followed at 12.30am by a performance by the `Tabarca' orchestra. On Thursday, August 23rd children can enjoy games in Plaza Joan de Joanes from 6pm. From 11pm on the Thursday night the first night of dances is held in Plaza del Ayuntamiento and then every night until Monday, August 27th. 8.30pm - Traditional procession of the Our patron the Holy Virgen of the Soledad. Presided by the local Authorities and accompanied by all the troops with their corresponding musical bands .

7pm - Grand parade of all the Troops beginning in the calle Cervantes. Passing by the Av Republica Argentina ending in the Parish temple with the traditional Offering of flowers to our Patron St.

The Christian faction leave from the Convent to the Main square. Followed by the presentation of the captains for the coming year, parading with gunfire and finishing with the Captains bearing their flags.
5pm - "Warfare” Moors and Christian combat, led by the Marine troops, Christians, Grocs Moors and Mudéjares, starting from the Portal of Onil. Finishing with the” Christian ambassadors a nd the Moor surrender in the Casa of the Fester Castle.
8.30pm - Parade of la “Pujada” leaving the Parish Church, accompanied by Authorities, troops and musical bands in solemn farewell procession of the Patron st. arriving at the Placeta de Carreter. Performance of the closure song. The parade finishes in the Ermita de la Preciosísima Sangre.

CASTELLO DE RUGAT From 08-08-2007 to 28-08-2007
Celebrations in Castelló de Rugat start in August 8th until the 28st. We recommend visiting on Saturday, August 11th at 9.30pm to watch the ‘Moto Acrobatics’ exhibition in Avenida de la Vall d' Albaida followed by ‘popular Torrada’(distribution of roasted meat) at 10pm. At 1am the celebrations continue in ‘Plaça del Mercat’ with a concert by rockabilly group `Descarriados'. New comparsa “Alakrans” will take part in the entrance of the Moors and Christians parades which begin at 7pm on August 8th followed by a concert by the ‘Titanic’ orchestra. COCENTAINA MOORS AND CHRISTIANS FESTIVAL 2007

Since the 18th century Cocentaina has celebrated its Moors and Christians festival in honour of Saint Hipòlit the Martyr, patron saint of Cocentaina since 1600.
The most important act of this Tourist National Interest festival is the magnificent entrance of Moors and Christians, Saturday 11th August.
Fri 10th 19.00: All the filaes -people who takes part in the festival- will meet in the Pla square to play and sing the fiesta anthem. Afterwards, all the filaes and musical bands will return to their social clubs for the typical supper of Olla -dish of rice, pork, and other ingredients-
22.30: Voltetes -fun parade- with all the filaes, in the Passeig del Comtat avenue

Sat 11th 06.30: In the Town Council square, a mass will be celebrates, followed by the singing of the national anthem. Upon completion of the anthem the first Diana-solemn parade- will start.
12.15: In front of the wooden castle, at the Pla square, the filaes of Maseros and Contrabandistes, will confront each other.
12.30, In Santa María Church, mass in honour of the saint patron.
19.00. The magnificient ENTRANCE of Moors and Christians. A parade with fantastic and unimaginable costumes, floats, music and other attractions.

11.45: In the Pla square, presentation of weapons and mass, with the offering of flowers to the saint patron.
20.15: Starting at the church of Santa María, a solemn procession will be held in honour of Saint Hipòlit. Following the procession, there will be fireworks.
23.30: The Retreta-humorous parade- distributing sweets and candies to the crowd.
When the Retreta's finished, open air dancing.
Mon 13th At daybreak the battle begins at the base of Mariola Mountain.
11.00, At the wooden castle, a Moorish courier demands from the Christian captain, the surrender of the village. It is refused, a dispute begins and a fierce gun battle breaks out ending with a Moorish victory.
14.00: A traditional battle of opposing sides, armed with very ripe tomatoes.
18.30: At the castle, another demand for the surrender, this time by the Christians. A battle begins, ending with the victory for the Christians. The fiestas finish with a thanksgiving act, at the Virgin of Miracle convent.
23.30: Open air dancing and... End of the festival

Hondón de las Nieves and Aspe share the Celebrations of la Virgen de las Nieves in alternate years. In 2007 Hondón de las Nieves, have the honour of holding the celebrations. This small town has depended on Aspe since 1839, and is the reason the towns now share the celebrations. The image of the Virgin is kept in Hondón de las Nieves.

11.30pm - Great Parade of "Alardos" (it's an informal parade in which each comparsa dresses up in fancy dress; it resembles a popular carnival), with the custom itinerary in a pasodoble rhythm.
1am - in the Glorieta Gardens, the orchestra Vértigo performance.
August 24th
11am - Children Entrance.
5.30pm - the CHRISTIAN ENTRANCE begins. The heralds open the parade, which with their bugles and drums, announce the beginning of the entrance of the Christian side. Immediately afterwards the Christian captaincy group marches past, which is followed by the spectators with great enthusiasm.
10.30pm - the MOORS ENTRANCE begins showing all the magic, fantasy and Eastern splendour marching past with the cadence of magnificent Moors Marches. The night falls on the city and the fiesta gains in splendour, brilliance and impressiveness, when the metals of the exhibited costumes shine.
Both entrances will go thorough the avenues Almaig and Daniel Gil ending at the Concepción Square.
August 25th
7.30am - Diana (Morning reveille) from the Coronación square.
11.30am - Begining of the parade for the "Contrabando" act from Concepcion Square.
12pm - at the foot of the castle of the Main Square the traditional "Contrabando" is celebrated in which comparsas of Sailors and Smugglers face each other in battle.
1.30pm - Opening and Announcement of the Medieval Market in La Vila's square (until 11pm.)
6pm - the emotional "Baixà" (the lowering) of the figure of Christ takes place from the Saint Anna hermitage until the Parish Church of San Carlos.
1am – “Nit del Riu” (River Night): espectacular correfocs from La Vila's square until the Old Bridge.
2am - Fireworks and ending fiesta with a DJ's performance at the Glorieta Gardens. Free entrance.
August 26th
7.15am - Campaign Mass in the Santo Domingo Square.
8am - when the Mass has finished The Diana the Diana de Gala will start.
11am - Medieval Market in La Vila's quarter (until 23h.)
12pm - Slemn Mass in the parish church of Sant Carles. Later, visit to the Saint Charity Hospital.
6pm - Solemn Procession, from Santo Domingo Square.
