Jupiter, the planet of luck.
Jupiter has been traditionally known by astrologers as the planet of luck. It is the first of the “outer” planets and relates to the wider social world. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars are personal planets, and make quicker transits across the zodiac, whereas Jupiter takes 12 years. It spends approximately a year in each sign and it is currently making its third transit in my natal Jupiter (yes you can guess how old I am!) Now Jupiter is a benefic planet, it is quite a nice planet and its effects are usually positive. It represents the “higher mind” and therefore relates to philosophy, religion, spiritual beliefs and higher education. The sign which it is placed at the time of birth will highlight the areas how the higher mind is expanded. It will show the areas of where we are lucky, hoe we will achieve and how we will ultimately prosper. Jupiter is all about advancement and its only downside that it can lead to overconfidence and weight gain with certain transits. It is after all the planet of “expansion.” Currently Jupiter is in Scorpio and for you readers this will have an effect on you as it will form some sort of relationships with your natal planets of the sun, moon, mercury etc. For me it marks a significant turning point in my life as it is currently conjunct my natal Jupiter which is also in the sign of scorpio and as with all Jupiter returns every 12 years will be the beginning of a new identity for me. Go on; see if you can think of something significant in the way of opportunities that have risen in your life at the ages of 12, 24, 36, 48 etc. The real test is that you must positively react to the opportunities that Jupiter hands you on a plate and never, ever underestimate yourself, because it is all there waiting for you. Jupiter is the planet that tells us to have faith. Also, if Jupiter is the highest planet on your birth chart, success in life is guaranteed.
The sign in which it falls in as I have mentioned earlier describes how you seek to expand your understanding of life; its benefits and your “higher mind,” which incorporates religion, morality, philosophy, psychology, astrology etc.
