Signs of love
The astrological sign that most people have fun with is their Venus sign as it is the planet that traditionally represents our romantic side. The Venus signs of two lovers in a compatibility chart will tell astrologers a lot about whether the relationship will last, whether it will be volatile or dynamic or all sweetness and light. Now I have to strongly emphasise that Venus dictates our romantic side as opposed to Mars, which represents our sex drive. Venus is the planet of love: it describes our romantic nature, our artistic side, our love and appreciation of beauty, what you are like as a friend or a lover; and your approach to finances and wealth. Venus has historically been depicted as a serene Goddess figure of love who is supposed to represent the qualities of the planet. The planet is feminine and rules the signs of Taurus and Libra, two signs renowned for refinement, culture, grace, charm and appreciation of beauty and a love of luxury. Now all signs in our individual charts can be read in isolation, but to provide a better-rounded picture they should ideally be read together as the sum of many parts. However, sometimes planets have a special focus when, for example, drawing compatibility charts. Astrologers will closely look at two lovers individual Venus signs to find the potential strengths and weaknesses of their relationship. So what I am going to do this week is have a slightly light-hearted look at the “love signs of celebrity couples, past and present” to see how their relationship works or worked. You will indeed notice certain patterns forming! For example, did you know that famous adulterers Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, and Michael Douglas have their Venus sign in Libra? Venus sign Librans are the most seductive and charming in the Zodiac. They usually have impeccable manners and know how to make a woman feel special. They need a long-term partner and soul mate. Bill Clinton is still married to Hilary Clinton, who has her Venus in Scorpio. This represents a character that is direct, determined, jealous and intense. They never lose their dignity in love and have a powerful control over their partner both physically and psychologically. Michael Douglas seems to have found true love with Catherine Zeta-Jones (a fellow Venus sign Libran). Prince Charles divorced Princess Diana, and has recently married long-term love Camilla Parker-Bowles. Princess Diana, who had her Venus in sensual Taurus, was a woman who was loyal and faithful in love. She was publicly distressed when her marriage fell apart. Venus in Taurus is a sign of having longevity in a relationship, but depicts a person who is driven by jealousy and possessiveness when a relationship falls apart. Camilla Parker Bowles is a Venus sign Cancerian who has strong nurturing and “mothering instincts.” She nourishes Charles ego and ambitions and there relationship seems to be in for the long-haul.
Another celebrity couple who have also had their ups and downs well-publicised are Posh n Becks. David’s Venus sign is in Gemini and is someone who is a flirt with a child-like approach to romance. Venus sign Geminis love the excitement of new romance and can get easily bored by a long term commitment. They need a lot of friends and a good social life and a partner must understand of this. This sign doesn’t like to be tied down. Victoria’s Venus sign is in Pisces, which is in an exalted position. Venus in Pisces depicts a person who is compassionate and tender-hearted. They are usually very dependent on a partner who must be caring. They can quickly pick up on slights as they are sensitive and vulnerable. This makes them appealing and attractive to others. They make a lot of sacrifices and suffer in silence. They make act like a martyr when hurt in love. Queen Elizabeth also has her Venus in Pisces. The Duke of Edinburgh has his in faithful Taurus. They have enjoyed a marriage in the public eye for sixty years. In her marriage the Queen looks up to her husband, and he in turn is loyal and dependable. Another good match for Venus Taureans are Venus sign Arians. Although they never married each other Spencer Tracey (Taurus) and Katherine Hepburn enjoyed a long love affair that spanned four decades. As a Venus Aries Katherine Hepburn like her counterparts Elizabeth Taylor, Paula Yates and Jack Nicholson, is assertive, outgoing and adventurous in amour and they can prove overwhelming to more timid souls. Romance is living for these people and they can be impatient, impractical and careless in love. Paula Yates was the essence of this in her intense relationship with Michael Hutchence, a Venus sign Sagittarian who was typical for his signs open-minded and freedom loving attitude towards romance. Although direct, open and honest they do not like to be tied down and prefer casual relationships. They get very nervous when their freedom is threatened.
